Born in Guam, the son of a Navy Veteran and Native Montanans, I grew up mostly in Lolo, MT until my wife and I moved to Florence, after we married as High-School Sweethearts. We now have two grown children and Ravalli County is our home.

Having a passion for numbers and business, I earned my BS in Business Administration at the University of Montana. I spent several years in retail and the automotive business until I was called to volunteer first, at Florence Fire followed by Ravalli County Sheriff’s Office in 2014. I’m a big advocate for higher education and it’s my personal goal to never stop learning. This is why I enjoy being engaged with every division in the Sheriff’s Office from Dispatch to Detention to Admin to Pre-Trial Supervision. I pride myself in fostering relationships in each area and with the Courts and County Administration.

As a volunteer, I completed the Field Training Officer (FTO) program and became patrol certified. In 2017, I was sworn in full-time and I LOVE answering the call to serve each day. Since 2017, I graduated the Montana Law Enforcement Academy and rose through the ranks as a Deputy 1st Class, Corporal (FTO), Detective, and Patrol Sergeant. I have participated in hundreds of hours of training spanning the gamut from narcotics investigation, sex crime, violent crime, and leadership training.

I share many of the conservative views of my fellow Ravalli County Constituents and I am devout in the US Constitution, but I believe the Office of Sheriff should be less about politics and more focused on service; less about conferences and committee work and more about being present, committed, and attached. I am committed to Ravalli County’s quality of life! I believe in transparency, responsible budgeting, loving and taking care of each other, fairness and equality, people development, honor, service, trust, gratitude, heart, drive, and self-discipline.

I subscribe to Sam Walton’s Core Beliefs; ACT WITH INTEGRITY, RESPECT THE INDIVIDUAL, SERVICE TO OUR COMMUNITY, and STRIVE FOR EXCELLENCE. I too believe the organization’s best ideas come from the people within it.

One of my favorite quotes by Anonymous, was shared with me by my mother, “The true measure of a man’s success is not in things or glory, but it is in the way his son (daughter) speaks about him when he is not in the room.”
